Behold Your Guard

One thing so important to God is the fulfillment of His calling upon your life. This, He cherishes so much. His thoughts for every of His child is good; He desires to see His Children prosper in every way. He yearns passionately for your prosperity in life, which is tied to your fulfilling His original intent for your life.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

3 John 1:2

That is the reason He patiently guarded the Israelites and ensured their eventual ascension into the Promised Land. To keep them safe and alive, He performed a lot of signs and miracles through Moses and despite the ingratitude exhibited by the people in the course of their sojourn, God still kept His promises. He instructed Moses on the things to do at every point they ran into trouble.

Moses was committed with the vision of guarding the Children of Israel into their Promised Land. But he needed to work on their minds to prove his genuineness by showing them signs that revealed he was from God. He also needed to guard them out of Egypt before proceeding to Promised Land. Within that period of time, Moses was a guardian, guarding the people to a specified destination.

God, who is our overall guard, does not play down on leadership. Leadership is very important to Him, and that’s why he sends us leaders at every phase of our life to prepare and take us into the next phase. No wonder He needed Moses so dearly; He needed him to lead His people out of their captivity in Egypt and to deliver them into their Promised Land. Despite his self-low esteem, God still believed in Moses; He trained him, equipped him and placed him in leadership. Eventually, He launched him out to the field to begin his guardian role of leading the people into the Promised Land.

When it became so apparent that Moses would not be able to lead the people to their set destination, He had to raise another man, Joshua, a protégé of Moses with the essential mindset. Finally, Joshua was the man who led the children of Israel right into their Promised Land and divided the heritage among their tribes after defeating the giants in the land.

To guard means to lead; it means to protect and also means to train, to direct, to pattern a person or thing towards the attainment of the desired goal.

Parents guard their children right from when the kids are babies. They ensure to provide their basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter, and enroll them into school when they are of age. They are careful as to what their children are exposed to and monitor them to ensure they are making progress into their adulthood. This guardian role of parents in the life of their kids are so pivotal, without which the child may become deviance, or worst still, a threat to social peace.
